Preschool

is not so cool to Butters. He doesn't want to go. Here is a sampling of his statements:

I don't like school.
Cough, cough, I feel sick, I can't go to school.
Mom, I just love you. I want to stay home.
I don't like school.
Okay, I'll try it.
I tried it and I don't like it.

I bribed. The first day, he got ice cream and a present. Today, we played at the park after and he got a present. No more presents. I've put up the days of the week, so we can talk about school days and days to do other things together. I don't like forcing him to do something, but he has fun once he's there!

I've had a great time, getting some alone time w/E. We went to the dog woods today and hiked for over an hour. She explored and had a blast.

Yeah N does the same thing. It's sad. One line that sometimes works with him is talking about "work".. he's into doing "jobs" around the house to earn money like Daddy (although thankfully he hasn't cottoned on to the idea of actually RECEIVING any money). So I explain how Daddy goes to work and my job is to take care of them and now his job is to learn so that someday he can go to work like Daddy too. I can only assume this explanation will not fly for long, but so far so good!

Hey...maybe during dinner get Butters to tell stories about his day at preschool. Like a story time. And DH can tell a story and you can tell a story and E can smile.

Just don't tell him he has 18+ more years of school!
